First Day High!!!

Yesterday, my hubby and I enrolled in a Basic Boxing Course! IMPOSSIBLE BUT TRUE! Finally, we both decided to make a go for it! Twas not an easy decision, especially for both of us who would just love to stay at home and play with our lil kiddo! this means, going to the gym M-W-F and meeting with our trainers... Henry for hubby. Norman for me.

Attire- jogging/sweat pants or cycling shorts , and a comfy cotton shirt for a top would do. You would also need a boxing gloves and a hand wrap. These items are available at the gym but of course you can save if you are going to buy them outside. Hubby and i purchased ours from Lopue's Mandalagan and indeed they were cheaper by 20%.

So, armed with the boxing paraphernalia, we begun our first day of training!!! First 20 minutes was spent for warm up then we were introduced to the BASIC OFFENSIVE BOXING MOVES - JAB, STRAIGHT, HOOK, UPPERCUT. We practiced these moves for an hour.
JAB-STRAIGHT-JAB-STRAIGHT...
HOOK-STRAIGHT-HOOK-STRAIGHT
JAB-HOOK-JAB-HOOK
UPPERCUT-HOOK-UPPERCUT-HOOK

These boxing punches can be delivered anywhere above the waist and it is best to mix up where they are delivered. According to our trainer, "You cannot win a battle without a great offense. You can have the best defense in the world, never allowing your opponent to hit you, but you cannot win if you don't hit him. That of course is where these boxing punches come in."

Different Stances then followed- FORWARD, BACKWARD, PIVOT! (hehehe! feeling Manny Pacquiao!) and as explained by our traienr, "maintaining a good stance will allow the boxer to execute punches successfully and accurately and will make it easier to position his feet correctly"

After the first 20 minutes of punching exercises, both of us already felt TIRED! or maybe EXHAUSTED is the right term! Butthen again, we just keep on reminding each other that we have to bear with it, be determined and be disciplined if we really want to SHAPE UP!

I can still remember what hubby told me 4 years ago..he would kid around and tell me, it's either "SHAPE UP OR SHIP OUT"... he means i have to remain in shape or he'll ship me out of the house! of course, he couldn't do that! and he never did! But of course, the woman inside me is saying that i really have to stay in shape not only for my hubby but more so for myself!

Hmmmm, why did it took me so long to decide? well, hubby and i have been engaged in too much culinary activities since we begin living together and of course eating has been the next best thing!!!

Now, we are trying so hard to have a healthy diet and we will try our very best to be present on the gym as scheduled but still be able to spend quality time with our daughter... anyway, even our daughter will surely benefit having healthy parents who will live longer to be with her until she turns 80 years old!

How I wish I could post some pics of our first day at Mega Boxing Gym but my husband says it's too chaka for me to be taking our pic or even ask somebody to do it for us!! hehehe! don't worry, we plan on keeping our boxing activity in the next months to come so i will be posting some pics once available.

Today's Message from God...

God's message for me today via FB:

On this day of your life, Shella, we believe God wants you to know ... that it is time to finally forgive yourself.

You've carried the guilt, the shame for long enough. You've kept your wounds open for long enough. The time has come to let go, to heal. Keep the lessons and let the pain heal. Yes, you know what we are talking about it.

Thank you Lord for this message...this is what I really need right now...indeed, I need to forgive myself... have a lot of unspoken feelings lately...emotions that I secretly keep..good and bad.. . they made me stronger, they gave me a lot of realizations, a lot of important lessons that made me a better person...Amen.

Blessing in This Guy

Let me take this opportunity to thank my husband for his undying love and support.xoxo! It's been one helluva week at work but thanks to his reassuring words, i survived! Thank you so much papa for always being there! Indeed, I am so blessed to have you for a husband. You're such a great blessing from God. You are not just a good provider, you are my best friend, a great partner--you are my saving grace. You never fail to amaze me with your wisdom and happy disposition in life- pessimist that I am sometimes. Thank you Lord for this guy. Thank you Lord for giving me the rare opportunity to marry this man.

I've said this once, and i'll say it again... "It is not everyday that God gives you a special person to be with & it’s not everyday that you get the chance to marry the person you want to spend the rest of your life with"

What a BLESSING IN THIS GUY!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH Mr. Aian Dale Pabon!

The Gift...

Since i was a kid i really have the passion for singing. It's unfortunate that i was not able to pursue a singing career (ambisyosa!). I would sing on school programs, join chorale contests and render intermission numbers on weddings and birthday parties. However, my dream of becoming the next Lea Salonga only remained a dream. Up to now. lol! My parents do not have the resources then to send me to a music school nor support me financially to follow my dream. But still my passion for singing is still burrowed in my heart. I do not know how i can easily get to memorize the lyrics of a lot of songs without using the "song hits" or song book as what we call it! hehehe! It just comes naturally. Thank you LORD for the gift!:-)

Here's the lyrics of one of my favorite songs:

Mariah Carey Lyrics

Can't Take That Away (Mariah's Theme) Lyrics

They can say,
Anything they want to say,
Try to bring me down,
But I will not allow anyone to succeed hanging clouds over me,
And they can try
How to make me feel that I,
Don't matter at all,
But I refuse to falter in what I believe or loose faith in my dreams

'Cause there's,
There's a light in me,
That shines brightly,
They can try,
But they can't take that away from me
From me

No no nooo

Oh they,
They can do
Anything they want to you,
If you let them in,
But they won't ever win,
If you cling to you pride, and just push them aside,
See I,
I have learned,
There's an inner peace I own,
Something in my soul that they can not possess
So I won't be afraid and the darkness will fade

'Cause there's,
There's light in me me,
That shines brightly, yes
They can try,
But they can't take that away from me

No oh oh,
They can't take this
Precious love I'll always have inside me,
Certainly the Lord will guide me where I need to go

Woah, woah
They can say
Anything they want to say,
Try to bring me down,
But I won't face the ground,
I will rise steadily sailing out of their reach,
Although they do try,
How to make me feel that I,
Don't matter at all,
But I refuse to fall,
Tell me what I believe or loose faith in my dreams,
'Cause there's a light in me,
That shines brightly yes

They can try but they can't take that away from Me
From me

Many Firsts...

Whoa!!! this is it!!! I already have my own blog! can't believe it. :-) Thanks to Lynette's encouragement..hehehe...and of course thanks to Joe and Raen for thier inspiration...

This is my first time to post so this has gotta be good! I may not be as gifted in writing as others are, but what the heck! this is MY BLOG!!!

My FIRST LOVE is my husband- Mr. Aian Dale T. Pabon and my FIRST BORN is my daughter, Allesha Sebastiene A. Pabon. They are my reasons for living... my source of inspiration, my source of strength and my all...without them my life is not as happy as it is right now... Nothing is perfect in this world, so let me just say that i have a well-balanced life... I have a responsible, loyal and loving husband...a good provider, a loving father and a funny partner rolled into one. I have a lovely and smart daughter, talkative like her mother, funny like her father and truly a BLESSING FROM GOD!!!

I work as a trainer for a Call Center, though, the shift may not be normal- i work at night and sleep all day- still, I am happy with it and i ACTUALLY LOVE IT! This is actually the FIRST JOB where i stayed for nearly 5 years now! Yes, 5 years, and still counting...

Well, as they say life is not complete without its ups and downs...today will also be the FIRST TIME that i will be attending an ER conference in my office... this is also the FIRST TIME that somebody made some unlawful activity using my login and here i am now, facing the consequences of the actions of other people! I know it's unfair, and i know it's ridiculous but I am just looking at the brighter side of everything...don't worry, i will be telling you all the details on my next post...

Right now, I am holding on to God's promise that HE is always there and that everything happens for a reason... I may not understand everything now but for sure SOMETHING GOOD is bound to happen!

"We may have some setbacks, our circumstances may change, but our circumstances don't determine our attitude. Instead, decide to live every day full of joy and ready for victory. Make the most of whatever comes your way and be looking for God's hand of blessing to carry you into the abundant life He has for you"...
